Imaging the Trifid (M20) and Lagoon Nebula (M8)

Step into a celestial ocean of stars with the Lagoon and Trifid Nebula. These giant interstellar clouds in the constellation of Sagittarius stretch close to 10 full moons across the sky. To make this possible, they were captured using a unique process: two separate images were stitched together to create a mosaic of two panels. This was the only way to make both Nebulae fit in this field of view with the equipment I own. Additionally, an Optolong filter was used to highlight the clouds of H-Alpha with red and Oxygen-III structures with blue hues. Despite their distance of about 4,000 light-years away, this interstellar image has the power to transform any room, transporting you to the very heart of these celestial wonders.
